rĩrĩa Maara a tere ĩthe. In the olden days it was common to inter our dead by placing them in the forest to be fed on by wild animals. The process was called guta.

Maara lived with his father near the Kathare stream. The stream was a popular place for animals to drink water. When his father died, Maara decided that his death was not going to waste. He was to make something out it. He devised a plan.

Before other people could learn of his fathers death, Maara woke up early in the morning carried his other and placed him sitting on the path to the stream.

When the first herd of cattle came up to go to the river, Mara warned.

“you people, even as you rush to take you cattle to the river, be warned that our father is down thered basking in the sun. Rest you hurt him I suggest you. You take another route.

But by then the cattle had reached where the body was and trodden on it.

THere after Maara accossted the herders and claimed they had killed his father.
